About this office:

The firm's Turkmenistan office in Ashgabat is located in the Yimpas Business Center in the heart of Ashgabat's administrative and business district.

Established in 2011, the Ashgabat office focuses on international arbitration, infrastructure development and public projects, and corporate and structured finance. We have served as lead advisers on some of the most important international arbitration proceedings involving the government of Turkmenistan and have counseled governmental entities on corporate and infrastructure issues. To ensure a consistently high level of service and the full benefit of our resources and global reach, Curtis utilizes an integrated team approach across offices and practice groups, staffing many of our matters with lawyers from other offices in Central Asia and the Middle East. Our lawyers in Turkmenistan are multilingual and are fluent in Turkmen, Russian, Turkish, English, German, Italian, Spanish and Chinese.

Our multi-office international arbitration team represents clients in matters ranging from complex multiparty, multiju-risdictional disputes to mid-sized commercial arbitrations and mediations. We are involved in all stages of the arbitra-tion process, including drafting arbitration clauses, and, in the event of a dispute, handling pre-arbitration negotiations and representing clients before arbitral bodies and in court proceedings to recognize and enforce arbitration awards. Our practitioners have appeared before all major international arbitral bodies in disputes arising under the rules of the Inter-national Chamber of Commerce (ICC), International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), American Arbitration Association (AAA), Netherlands Arbitration Institute (NAI), the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce and London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), as well as in ad hoc arbitration under the rules of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL). In response to our clients' growing interest in efficient and in-expensive dispute resolution, we also have become increasingly active in mediation and dispute boards.

Resident attorneys in our Turkmenistan office are admitted to practice in Turkmenistan, Russia, Turkey, New York and Connecticut. The office in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan is a branch of the Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP (New York) legal entity.
