Curtis' offices in Kazakhstan, operating as TOO "Curtis Mallet-Prevost (Kazakhstan)", opened its doors in 2007. Consistent with the Firm's international orientation, Curtis' Almaty and Astana lawyers provide services primarily in cross-border transactions involving Kazakh and international law focusing on corporate, commercial, banking and capital markets work as well as on international arbitration. The Firm's lawyers have served as lead advisers on some of the largest projects in Kazakhstan, advising both private sector companies and governmental entities.
The Almaty office concentrates on general corporate and commercial, real estate and international funds work. It advises, inter alia, Kazakh as well as foreign investors on business set-ups, joint ventures and financings. The Astana office works mainly with and for governmental agencies and entities, providing them with the full spectrum of legal services. It concentrates on energy, in particular oil and gas, and infrastructure projects as well as on regulatory matters across all industries.
The Kazakhstan offices work closely with the Firm's U.S., Middle Eastern and European offices to draw upon the Firm's depth and breadth of experience and to ensure a uniform standard of excellence throughout the world.
