Cynthia A. Hanawalt concentrates her practice on prosecuting complex securities fraud cases on behalf of institutional investors.
Prior to joining Labaton Sucharow, Ms. Hanawalt was an associate at Bingham McCutchen LLP and McKee Nelson LLP, where she represented clients in state and federal securities litigation, involving asset-backed securities or CDOs, and other complex commercial litigation matters.
Before beginning her legal career, Ms. Hanawalt served as an associate at The Boston Consulting Group.
Ms. Hanawalt received a J.D. from Columbia Law School, where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. She earned a Masters Degree in Law and Economics from Universitą di Bologna in Italy. Ms. Hanawalt received a B.A., cum laude, in Public Policy Studies from Duke University, where she was presented with the William J. Griffith University Service Award.
