Cooper is a member of the firm's Creditors' Rights & Bankruptcy Service Group and joined the firm in 2007. Cooper's practice includes commercial foreclosure work, representation of creditors in bankruptcy court, and defending lender liability claims.

· Co-counsel for regional airport authority in Chapter 11 bankruptcy of major U.S. air carrier
· Co-counsel for lending institution in Chapter 11 bankruptcy of large-scale marine retailer
· Current co-counsel for several different commercial lenders and loan servicers in various stages of work-out process, including foreclosure

Before Stites & Harbison
While in law school, Cooper was a member of the Bankruptcy Moot Court Team and participated in the Conrad B. Duberstein Moot Court Competition at St. Johns University School of Law. Prior to joining Stites & Harbison, Cooper served as a judicial clerk for the Hon. William L. Stocks, Chief Judge, and the Hon. Thomas W. Waldrep, both United States Bankruptcy Judges for the Middle District of North Carolina.
