Scott represents high net worth individuals and families and corporate fiduciaries in all aspects of trust and estate law. His practice includes estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax planning, business succession planning, charitable planning, estate and trust administration, and probate and trust litigation.
Notable Experience
· Scott has been involved in all aspects of sophisticated wealth transfer planning, including formation of family limited partnerships and limited liability companies, sales to defective grantor trusts, GRATs and Florida intangibles tax trusts
· Scott has successfully defended valuations of closely-held business interests in IRS audits of estate and gift tax returns in which the client was saved over $100 million in transfer taxes.
· Through litigation brought in the Florida probate courts and with the joinder of Florida's attorney general, Scott has reformed and consolidated a number of separate private foundations to form one of the largest private scholarship foundations in Palm Beach County.
· Combining his estate tax expertise with his litigation practice, Scott has successfully negotiated creative settlements of will contests and other litigated matters on tax advantageous terms.

Prior to joining the Firm, Scott spent seventeen years as an associate and a partner at the Florida law firm of Steel Hector & Davis, ultimately leading that firm's private client practice in Palm Beach County.

A native Floridian and avid outdoorsman, Scott's outside interests currently revolve around his twin teenage sons, including supporting their participation in a number of team sports, scuba diving, fishing, boating and other outdoor adventures.
