D. Stewart Green is a shareholder practicing in the firm's Bloomfield Hills office. He has a B.A. from Michigan State University in 1974 (high honors) and a J.D. from the University of Michigan in 1977. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan (Member, Committee on Condominiums, Cooperatives and PUDs) and the Oakland County and American Bar Associations (member, Forum Committee on Affordable Housing). Mr. Green is Manager of the firm's Real Estate Practice and is listed in The Best Lawyers in America (Real Estate).
Mr. Green has extensive experience in all areas of real property practice. He has represented numerous clients in major sales and purchases of real estate, lenders and borrowers in loan transactions, purchasers and developers in condominium developments, and landlords and tenants in leasing transactions. Mr. Green has been involved in numerous mortgage loan workouts and foreclosures on behalf of major commercial lenders and has litigated the enforcement of loan documents, including representing lenders in bankruptcy matters.
Mr. Green's activities have included extensive office and commercial leasing matters. He has extensive experience in construction lien and related matters and has been involved in litigation concerning the same, including the treatment of construction liens and trust fund claims in bankruptcy. Mr. Green has lectured on foreclosure issues, real estate matters, and related topics in the bankruptcy and commercial workout area.
Mr. Green is a member of the board of directors of Lighthouse Community Development, a non-profit low income housing organization, and a subsidiary of Lighthouse of Oakland County, and was honored by it as one of two recipients of its Joycelynn Hubbard Volunteer of the Year award for 2005.

· Acted as principal attorneys for the developer of a complex $180,000,000 historical rehabilitation, conversion, retrofitting of a 32 story jewel in downtown Detroit, including all aspects of financing
· Represented developer of waterfront residential condominium development
· Represented developer in negotiation and financing of land acquisition from Downtown Development Authority and acquisition of the hotel from prior owners
· Negotiated synthetic lease transactions
· Purchase of real property in Macomb County
· Sale of lots to builder
· Represented auto supplier in long-term lease of new facility
· Purchase of vacant land and land development financing
· Negotiated the purchase of a building and assumption of indebtedness for major health care organization
· Negotiated construction and development contracts for commercial office building
· Served as counsel for the acquisition of multiple parcels of land for major mixed use residential/commercial development
· Served as counsel for the acquisition of vacant land and related construction financing
· Asset Purchase agreement
· Negotiated long term mortgageable ground lease on behalf of developer for construction of physicians office building adjoining surgical center
· Represent health care institutions in the development of medical office buildings and ambulatory surgical centers including by example, funding, ground leases, certificates of need, leases and related matters
