Damon Barry is a founding shareholder of Donelson Barry, LLC. Mr. Barry practices in the areas of general corporate and business law where he regularly advises clients in connection with mergers and acquisitions, capital raises, contract preparation and negotiation, joint ventures, and commercial real estate transactions.Mr. Barry helps clients start, grow, buy and sell businesses. He works with directors, executives and owners to address complex problems with commonsense solutions.
Mr. Barry has provided counsel to public companies, closely held companies and other companies that operate in a wide range of industries including software and technology, cable and telecommunication, electronic payments, manufacturing, and oil and gas equipment sales.With over 12 years of in-house general counsel experience, Mr. Barry routinely provides advice to corporate legal departments as well as serves as general counsel for lower to middle market companies.
Over the years, Mr. Barry has served as a director on several non-profit and political boards and commissions. Currently, he serves as a Trustee to the University of Nebraska Foundation. Most recently, he was appointed by Colorado Governor John W. Hickenlooper to serve on the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District Board. Former Colorado Governor Bill Ritter appointed him to serve on the Economic Development and International Trade Transition Advisory Committee as well as Chair for the State of Colorado Statutory Advisory Committee to the Property Tax Administrator.
While at the University of Washington, he was a member of the varsity football team, which made three consecutive Rose Bowl appearances and won the 1991 National Championship.
