Dan E. West is a member of the firm's Baton Rouge office. He is an experienced trial and appellate attorney, having practiced over 30 years. He has concentrated his recent practice in class action litigation involving toxic and environmental claims, claims involving the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the Louisiana Uniform Trade Practices Act, asbestosis exposure claims and construction and product defect claims. He has acted as appellate and coverage counsel for a national insurer and has appeared before the Louisiana Supreme Court and most Circuit Courts of the State of Louisiana.
Dan's practice includes the representation of a national trucking company and major manufacturers of commercial vehicles, home furniture and appliances, building materials and computers. Through this representation he also has extensive commercial litigation experience involving claims of breach of contract, breach of implied covenants of good faith and fair dealing, detrimental reliance and interference with contracts and product defect claims.
After graduating from law school, Dan served as a law clerk for the Honorable Jack M. Gordon, United States District Court Judge, Eastern District of Louisiana.
