Attorney Daniel Oliver has been engaged in the general practice of law in Morgantown, WV for more than thirty years.
During that time, he has been a solo practitioner, an associate at a medium sized Charleston-based law firm, and partner at a large Pittsburgh-based law firm. Attorney Oliver sees clients on a regular basis and assists them with their estate and business planning needs. He also handles residential real estate transactions on a daily basis.
On the commercial real estate side, he regularly represents hotel developers and has been involved in multi-million dollar hotel transactions in West Virginia, Ohio, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. In 2006, Attorney Oliver handled all aspects of a $39 million dollar apartment complex development project in Morgantown, WV.
He has extensive experience as an arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association and in private arbitration, developing specialized knowledge regarding the coal industry and the postal industry. He has also been successful as a mediator, both in domestic relations matters and in civil litigation matters.
In 2005, he successfully represented an international pharmaceutical company in a six day jury trial.
In addition to his public practice, he has been a Worker's Compensation Hearing Examiner for the State of West Virginia and has been a lecturer at West Virginia University for more than thirty years, teaching both business law and sports law. Attorney Oliver has been a boxing promoter and a sports agent in both the United States Football League and the National Football League.
