During his time with Arias & Muñoz, Mr, Araya has advised prominent local and multinational banks, financial institutions and companies on a variety of legal issues regarding Costa Rican and international law. His specialties include foreign investors in the private sector and advising on complex corporate and financial transactions.
Representative Experience
· Mr. Araya advised one of the largest financial conglomerates in Colombia on the due diligence and acquisition process of a major Costa Rican bank's Central American operations.
· Mr. Araya advised one of the most prestigious business groups in El Salvador on their recent acquisition of a real estate and hotel project in Escazú, which includes a Holiday Inn Hotel.
· Mr. Araya advise a major Puerto Rican bank, and a leading Caribbean and Central American provider of transaction and financial application processing, business process outsourcing, and information technology consulting, on their corporate restructuring in Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica and Panama as well as on the partial sale of certain business units.
· Mr. Araya advise on of the world's largest beverage companies on the sale of its interest in a hotel and real estate development in the northwest of Costa Rica.
· Daniel advised one of the world's leading brewers, on the sale of its bottling operations in Costa Rica, Consisting of two Costa Rican Sociedades Anonimas, to the largest Costa Rican brewing company.
· Before joining Arias & Muñoz, Mr. Araya worked for two years as a Foreign Legal Consultant at the law firm Hutchison & Steffen in Las Vegas, Nevada and four years at the law firm of Beirne, Maynard & Parsons in Houston, Texas.
