Dan is a member of the Health Care Department, where he focuses his practice on medical malpractice defense. In addition to his litigation and transaction experience, Dan is also experienced in matters concerning post trial and appellate advocacy. Additionally, Dan has successfully briefed and orally argued complex issues and cases on behalf of nationally recognized health systems and hospitals to the Superior Court of Pennsylvania and the United States District Court of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Dan routinely assists and develops cases from inception and throughout trial, handling pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions practice, expert witness matters, and pre-trial litigation of complex legal issues.
Prior to beginning his career as a litigator, Dan completed a judicial clerkship with the Honorable James P. Cullen of the Court of Common Pleas, Pennsylvania, Second Judicial District. In this position, Dan researched, collaborated with the Judge, and drafted opinions on various civil and criminal issues with emphasis on complex medical professional liability matters. Simultaneous to his clerkship, Dan independently served as an arbitrator in civil cases.
Dan has also researched and compiled reports on sub-prime mortgages' effects on investment banks for the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary, and drafted and revised transactional documents as a legal intern in the Corporate and Securities Practice Group of Pepper Hamilton LLP. In addition, he served as a legal intern for the Honorable Arlander Keys, United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the Honorable J. Curtis Joyner, United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and under the Honorable Ann Claire Williams, United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. During law school, Dan served on the editorial board of two legal journals.
