Daniel M. Hess is a partner with Foley & Lardner LLP. He is chair of the Estates & Trusts Practice and is a member of the Commercial Transactions & Business Counseling Practice. Mr. Hess counsels individuals in matters relating to estate planning, financial planning, trust administration and probate administration. He advises business owners in a broad range of corporate law matters.
Mr. Hess has extensive experience in counseling privately owned businesses and their owners in business and estate planning matters. His practice has a particular focus on advising clients regarding business succession planning, acquisitions, and financing for private companies.
Mr. Hess is admitted to practice in Wisconsin and Florida. He is a member of the Business Law and Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Sections of the American Bar Association. He also serves on the American Bar Association's Committee on Partnerships and Unincorporated Business Organizations. He is the author of articles on business succession planning published by Trusts & Estates magazine and the Small Business Times.

Mr. Hess received his law degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Law, where he was managing editor of the Wisconsin Law Review. He also holds a Master of Laws degree in taxation from the University of Florida College of Law Graduate Tax Program, where he was graduate editor of the Florida Tax Review.
