| Biography | Dan is a member in the firm's Boston office, where he practices in the Real Estate Section. His experience covers all aspects of commercial real estate, including acquisitions and sales, development, permitting, leasing, and financing. Dan represents developers, owners, and operators of real estate. His clients include national and local developers, opportunity funds, pension advisors, and several real estate entrepreneurs. Dan has extensive experience acquiring and selling commercial properties of all types. His experience includes the management of an acquisition program for a public shopping center REIT, the acquisition and disposition of office buildings, apartments, industrial, and retail properties for private real estate investment funds, and numerous other multi-property and multi-state transactions. Dan manages a multi-state leasing program for a national real estate investment fund. His commercial leasing experience extends to large retail properties, such as big box stores and power centers, office parks, and office/research and development campuses. Dan also has extensive experience in development and land use, including both market rate and affordable multi-family housing projects. His development practice focuses on site control, acquisition, planning, and permitting and includes large-scale developments with complex zoning and land use issues. Dan also represents lenders and borrowers in various types of financing and shared investment transactions, from conventional, property-specific mortgage loans to mezzanine loans, preferred equity investments, and joint ventures. Dan served on the Town of Hamilton Housing Partnership Committee and he is the past President and a Member of the Board of the Hamilton-Wenham Education Fund. He is a frequent presenter on topics across a broad range of real estate acquisition, leasing, and financing topics. Dan has been named to the Massachusetts Super Lawyers list in 2010 and 2011. Dan is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and is a member of the Massachusetts and Boston Bar Associations. After receiving his B.A. from the College of the Holy Cross (1982), he earned his J.D., cum laude, from Boston College (1986), where he was Executive Editor of the Uniform Commercial Code Reporter-Digest.
