Dan Orie's practice involves a broad range of commercial, business, real estate and product liability litigation, involving subject areas such as insurance coverage, leases, franchising, pharmaceuticals, and industrial/construction equipment. Dan also serves as general counsel to several small closely held companies advising them with respect to contractual or other business and financial related matters. In his litigation practice, Dan has appeared in trial and appellate courts in multiple state and federal courts and arbitration proceedings. Representative Matters · Representing a manufacturer of prescription drug as part of the national litigation team involving the defense of several thousand cases in both federal and state courts; · Business counseling and litigation on behalf of both franchisors, area developers, and single and multi-unit franchisees; · Representing lessors and leasees in all areas of disputes arising of the commercial landlord-tenant relationship; · Successfully defending a museum owner in contractual dispute involving its museum collection, and affirmed on appeal in 2009; · Representing insurance carriers in coverage litigation, including a dispute involving multi-employer health care claims and excess loss coverage.
