Formerly a patent agent and currently a patent attorney registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Dan commonly drafts and prosecutes electrical, mechanical, internet-based and business method patent applications for large, private corporations as well as research laboratories. Dan also has substantial experience in Patent Reexamination Proceedings, including Inter Partes Reexaminations. He has prosecuted foreign and domestic trademark applications and enforced trademark rights for multinational corporations, including UDRP proceedings against domain name cyber-squatters. Dan has worked with major book retailers and publishers with regard to rights of privacy and publicity, as well as with copyright issues. Dan also has experience in product and advertising review, and has challenged false advertisements before the National Advertising Division. He also provides intellectual property litigation support in patent, trademark, trade dress, trade secret and unfair competition lawsuits.
Experience
· Prosecuted an Inter Partes Reexamination proceeding on behalf of a multinational company, resulting in the rejection of all patent claims asserted against the client and the dismissal of the litigation
· Represented telecommunications client before the National Advertising Division and prevailed in a challenge of rival telecommunications company's advertisement
