Biography

Daniel Strigberger is a Partner in the Insurance Litigation Group in our Waterloo office. He provides litigation services to many of Canada's leading property and casualty insurers.

Daniel has developed an expertise in inter-company priority and loss transfer disputes, representing his clients in hundreds of such disputes over the years. He also acts for insurers' interests in first party claims, coverage disputes, and tort actions. He has several years of experience being lead counsel in matters before the courts, private arbitration tribunals, and at the Financial Services Commission of Ontario. Daniel also runs a Twitter feed, @InsuranzLaw, broadcasting "tweets" about cases and news stories dealing with insurance law issues as they happen.

Throughout his career, Daniel has also managed to stay on top of cutting-edge technology issues by working with one of Canada's leading authorities on Internet law. Combining his advocacy skills with his Internet law expertise, Daniel is in a key position to assist our clients by litigating matters involving a technology component.

In February 2012 Daniel was honoured by the Waterloo Region Record as one of the Region's Top 40 Under 40. The award highlights residents under the age of 40 who have excelled in their careers and demonstrated commitment to community leadership.

When he's not litigating matters, Daniel tackles the world of legal humour as the webmaster and editor of LegalHumour.com. Combining his passion for comedy with his zeal for advocacy, Daniel has enjoyed much success in this arena. Daniel's other interests include digital photography, golf and following hockey. Daniel and his wife are the proud parents of two beautiful children and two lovely cats.
