Daniel T. Plunkett is a member in the commercial litigation section of the firm's New Orleans office. Dan's practice is split between consumer finance litigation, including the defense of class actions against financial institutions, and government contracts matters, including bid protests. He also litigates other commercial disputes. At Tulane Law School, Dan served as an editor of the Tulane Law Review. After earning awards for the highest grades in Trial Advocacy and Mediation and Dispute Resolution, Dan accepted an invitation to join the adjunct faculty teaching trial practice skills at the law school. He has also taught at the School of Hotel, Restaurants, and Tourism at the University of New Orleans. Dan has spoken at a wide range of seminars on topics from professionalism and ethics to credit insurance, subcontractor issues, and the Federal Tort Claims Act. Before joining McGlinchey, Dan clerked for Judge A J. McNamara at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. He is a member of the firm's recruiting and finance committees, and chairs the associate committee.
