Darius Ravangard focuses his practice in the areas of securities and corporate law, including public offerings under the Securities Act of 1933 and compliance with reporting requirements under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. Darius also handles matters relating to the establishment, operation and regulation of public and private closed-end funds and small business investment companies. He regularly represents a variety of businesses in their capital-raising activities with a specific focus on listed and non-listed business development companies, and counsels clients with respect to state "Blue Sky" laws. In addition, Darius counsels clients regarding compliance issues related to the Investment Company Act of 1940 and corporate governance matters.
Before joining Sutherland, Darius was a summer associate with a large law firm in Delaware focusing on bankruptcy, corporate and tax matters. He also served as an associate summer law clerk to the Honorable Roger J. Miner of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in New York. While attending college, Darius was a four-year starter on the Binghamton men's soccer team and was an Academic All-American.
