David A. Orenstein is a partner in the Minneapolis, Minnesota office of Barnes & Thornburg LLP, where he is a member of the Litigation Department.
Mr. Orenstein concentrates his practice in creditor rights and complex commercial litigation. He assists institutional lenders in work-outs, foreclosures, bankruptcy matters and other loan enforcement proceedings. Mr. Orenstein also litigates business disputes of many types including those involving employer/employee rights, real estate, copyright and trademark usage, and landlord/tenant issues. He practices in federal and state court, and has successfully represented his clients in the Minnesota Supreme Court.
Mr. Orenstein attended Northwestern University and the University of Minnesota, where he received his B.A. magna cum laude in 1977. He received his J.D. in 1980 from Washington University.
Mr. Orenstein is a member of the Hennepin, Minnesota State and American Bar Associations. He is the former co-chair of the Debtor/Creditor Remedies Section of the Hennepin County Bar Association. He is Martindale Hubbell AV-rated and was selected as a Minnesota "Super Lawyer" by Minnesota Law & Politics Magazine.
He is admitted to practice in the State of Minnesota, in Federal Court and in Prairie Island Tribal Court.
