David A.N. Lever

David A.N. Lever is a partner in our Corporate Finance and Mergers and Acquisitions Group in Toronto and the Industry Group Leader of the firm's Power Group. His practice has a specific focus on project finance, corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions in the energy area.

Mr. Lever has been actively involved in the power industry since 1988. During this period, he has acted for developers, investors and lenders in connection with wind, hydro, nuclear and co-generation power projects in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, Québec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and the United States. Mr. Lever has provided counsel in the areas of development, financing, contract negotiation, permitting and regulatory matters and ownership structures. He has extensive experience in financings for public and private corporations and income funds in both public and private markets. Mr. Lever also has significant experience in the purchase and sale of businesses in the energy industry.

Mr. Lever appears in the LEXPERT/The American Lawyer Guide to the Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada, as a leading lawyer in the area of electricity and project finance. He also appears in the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory, a guide to the leading law firms and practitioners in Canada, as a leading lawyer in the areas of electrical energy and project finance. Mr. Lever is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario LLB, the London School of Economics (M.Sc. in Finance and Accounting), and the University of Toronto (MBA). He was called to the Ontario bar in 1987.
