David Ellis is a Retired Partner at Foley Hoag, and former chairman of the firm's Executive Committee. His legal experience includes representation of many major employers in proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board, at labor arbitrations, in collective bargaining negotiations and in employment litigation in the state and federal courts. He was appointed by the Chairman of the National Labor Relations Board to a panel of Management Attorneys chosen throughout the United States to advise the NLRB on the possible revision of agency procedures.
He previously served as legal counsel for various corporations, including General Dynamics Corporation, Hudson General Corporation, Anheuser-Busch, Inc., Wal-Mart, Inc., and Beverly Nursing Homes, Inc., and has been counsel for several of the major academic institutions in the Greater Boston Area, including Boston University, University of Massachusetts, Suffolk University, Emerson College and Newbury College.
Prior to joining Foley Hoag, David spent ten years as an attorney with the National Labor Relations Board in Newark, New Jersey, Washington, D.C., and Boston, Massachusetts.
