David Millard is Chair of the Corporate Department of Barnes & Thornburg LLP. He is a partner in the Indianapolis, Indiana office. Mr. Millard counsels middle-market and high-growth businesses, as well as venture capital and private equity funds and the investors in those businesses and funds. His practice includes providing services in connection with acquisitions and sales of businesses, rollups and industry consolidations, leveraged buyouts, capital raising and business finance, strategic planning, venture capital and angel financing, bank and mezzanine financing, business restructurings, joint ventures and collaborations, fund formation, strategic alliances, and commercial contracts. Mr. Millard represents high profile businesses across a wide array of industries including biopharma, biotech, medical device, life sciences, health care, wind, solar, bio fuels, alternative and renewable energy, health care IT, cloud computing, and information technology. Mr. Millard received the Supporter of Entrepreneurship Award in the Indiana Entrepreneur of the Year Awards in 1997. In 2002, he was named Volunteer of the Year by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Millard has been a columnist for the Indianapolis Business Journal for many years. Mr. Millard graduated with highest distinction in 1977 from Indiana University School of Business and received his J.D. magna cum laude in 1979 from Indiana University School of Law.
