David Kronenberg's practice is concentrated in the areas of bankruptcy, cross-border insolvency, and distressed real estate. He has considerable experience with commercial and cross-border litigation, and has represented debtors and creditors in Chapter 11 and 15 proceedings involving airlines, retailers, insurance companies, property developers, industrial companies, and various financial institutions.
He has recently represented Lehman Re Ltd., a former Bermuda reinsurance subsidiary of Lehman Brothers, in its U.S. chapter 15 case and related litigation. He has also recently represented the Renco Group, Inc. in litigation related to the RG Steel bankruptcy cases. Other significant representations have included Lloyds TSB Bank, MBIA Insurance Corp., LNR Properties, LLC., Northwest Airlines, and Bear Stearns in Debtor or advisory-related work.
David currently serves as an elected representative on Cadwalader's Firm Committee. He has also assisted the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law on proposed amendments to the Model Law on Cross-Border Insolvency.
Prior to joining Cadwalader, David served as a summer law clerk for the Honorable Gabriel W. Gorenstein, U.S. Magistrate Judge for the Southern District of New York.
David received his undergraduate degree, cum laude, from Washington University in St. Louis, and his J.D., cum laude, from Brooklyn Law School, where he was a Carswell Merit Scholar. He is admitted to practice in the State of New York and before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
