David Leonard is a partner in our Litigation Group in Toronto, serving as trial counsel in many areas of litigation, with a particular emphasis on prosecuting teachers before their discipline body, defending tort and commercial class action proceedings, defending doctors in complex medical malpractice cases and administrative and health regulatory tribunal hearings. Mr. Leonard has extensive experience representing clients before all levels of court in Ontario. He has tried complex, multi-party cases involving infectious disease outbreaks, class actions over treatment of patients at mental health institutions and issues of consent to treatment. He practices administrative law, including the jurisdiction of a regulatory bodies. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, The Advocates Society and The Medico-Legal Society of Toronto. He has been invited to speak on a variety of topics and present advocacy demonstrations on numerous occasions. Mr. Leonard received his BA (Hons.) and his LLB from the University of Western Ontario and was called to the Ontario bar in 1994. |
