David is a member of the Real Estate Group and the Sports Law Group.
David's real estate practice focuses on all aspects of commercial real estate. His experience includes acting for landlords and tenants in negotiating office, retail, and industrial leases. He also acts for lenders and borrowers in commercial financings, vendors and purchasers in commercial sale transactions, and builders and developers in various types of land developments.
David has acted for sports leagues, teams, players, agents, broadcasters, and national sport governing bodies. He advises on sports-related intellectual property issues, non-profit matters, and regulatory compliance, in addition to drafting and negotiating playing contracts, endorsement agreements, management deals, and league constitutions.
David is a graduate of the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. He currently profiles NBA players in a regular sports feature for the Cincinnati Enquirer, and is also the author of Jamaal Magloire: A Biography.
David is a frequent speaker and appears on radio and television discussing the world of sports. He is co-author or co-editor of two book chapters on sports law, and lectures on sports law at the University of Toronto, and at his alma mater, Osgoode Hall Law School.
