Biography

After his call to the Bar in 1974, David Crocker practiced with the Ministry of the Attorney General at the Ministry of the Environment. From 1985 to 1986 he was seconded to the Ministry of Consumer & Commercial Relations and subsequently was seconded to the Crown Law Office Civil. He joined the firm of Holden Day Wilson as head of their environmental law group in 1990. Upon the dissolution of Holden Day Wilson, he joined Blaney, McMurtry, Stapells, Friedman and thereafter continued his environmental practice at Power Budd LLP. David joined Davis LLP in 2004.

Mr. Crocker's practice involves all areas of environmental law including issues of waste management and disposal, compliance, environmental assessment and approvals, environmental litigation, due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, transportation of dangerous goods and occupational health and safety. He reviews and revises environmental assessment audits in the context of corporate mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions and corporate reorganizations.

A significant part of Mr. Crocker's practice includes negotiating on behalf of clients with various levels of government concerning regulatory requirements which those government agencies wish to impose. He has represented clients in dealing with numerous levels of government concerning approvals and permits required by those clients to commence or continue operations of various commercial and industrial enterprises.

He also maintains an active energy law practice. David was retained to advise the Ontario Energy Board for the IPSP hearing. He also represents the Association of Major Power Consumers in Ontario in various matters before the Energy Board. David has also represented clients related to natural gas issues before the Energy Board.

· Past president of the Canadian Rehabilitation Council for the Disabled, a national umbrella organization holding the provincial Easter Seal and March of Dimes (Ability Fund) franchises in Canada and a member of the board of directors since 1979

· Volunteer for his small synagogue, Solel, and for ISAAC (International Society for Augmentative and Alternative Communicators)
