Biography

David L. Robbins is a retired partner with Foley & Lardner LLP, where he was a member of the firm's Transactional & Securities and Commercial Transactions & Business Counseling Practices. Mr. Robbins' practice included a broad range of business, corporate, and commercial matters, including general corporate, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, venture capital transactions, real estate acquisitions and sales, health care business law, general contract law, joint ventures and strategic alliances, and technology protection and transfer.

With over 40 years of business law experience, Mr. Robbins frequently served in the capacity of "general counsel" with direct, hands-on client involvement. His practice crossed most industry lines, including technology, health care, manufacturing and distribution, retail, and real estate, and his clients ranged from large, multinational corporations to smaller entrepreneurial individuals and start-up companies.

A graduate of the University of Florida College of Law (J.D., 1967) and the University of North Carolina (A.B. in English, 1965), he joined Foley & Lardner in 1994 after having practiced law in St. Petersburg for 26 years with a firm he helped establish. In recognition of his achievements, Mr. Robbins was Peer Review Rated as AV® Preeminent™, the highest performance rating in Martindale-Hubbell's peer review rating system.

Since retirement from the practice of law, Mr. Robbins has entered into a business partnership and is engaged in the formation and growth of a niche pharmaceutical and nutraceutical company in the United States and abroad.

Mr. Robbins is a member of The Florida Bar, the American Bar Association, the St. Petersburg Bar Association, the Hillsborough County Bar Association, and the American Academy of Hospital Attorneys. He has held numerous positions in the community, including chairman of the Pinellas County Chapter of the March of Dimes; member of the board of governors for the National Conference of Christians and Jews; former chairman of the St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce; former chairman of the board of trustees for Bayfront Health System, Inc.; former president of Leadership St. Petersburg Alumni Association; former member of the executive committee of the board of trustees for Bayfront Health Foundation, Inc.; former member of the board of directors for Pinellas County Workforce; member of board of directors of Museum of Fine Arts; and general chairman and member of the board of directors of Copperheads Charities, host of the PGA Tour Transitions Championship Golf Tournament.
