David Weintraub holds a joint law and business degree from Washington University in St. Louis and is a member of the real estate practice group. He maintains a multi-disciplinary practice with a focus on counseling financial institutions with respect to financing, leasing and development matters.
Prior to joining Miles & Stockbridge, David served as a representative for the Individual Trustees of the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill Trust. Created by B.P. N.A. on August 6th, 2010, its purpose is to respond to certain claimants, and is scheduled to be funded by B.P. N.A. up to a maximum of $20,000,000,000 by 2013. With the Individual Trustees, David's primary tasks were to help create and implement an operating framework for the Individual Trustees as well as oversee the process in which assets were pledged as collateral to back-stop the Trust funds.
During law school, David placed first in his school's ABA Negotiation Competition and was also a member of the regional negotiation team.
