David focuses on complex commercial litigation. A trial lawyer since 1978, he has handled litigation in federal and state courts around the country involving a range of complex commercial disputes, including contracts, real estate, energy and natural resources, healthcare litigation, business torts, banking and construction. He has represented parties in appeals, arbitrations and mediations and has substantial experience as an arbitrator in commercial disputes.
David joined the firm as a Partner in 2008 from Holme Roberts & Owen, where he practiced for nearly 30 years. Throughout the years, he has taught courses at the University of Colorado School of Law, including legal writing and appellate advocacy.

· Obtained landmark ruling from Colorado Supreme Court construing the state's Dissenter's Rights Act barring claims against directors and officers of a company by a shareholder exercising his rights as a dissenting shareholder under the act
· Obtained favorable ruling on behalf of mining company from the U.S. Court of Appeals, Tenth Circuit, in 2006 construing the Mining Law of 1872, affirming ruling that denial of mining patent is not subject to judicial challenge
· Represented dental practice management firm in extensive federal court litigation in New Orleans, La.
