Background
David Madsen is a partner in our Calgary office. David was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 1988. He obtained his LL.B. (With Distinction) from the University of Saskatchewan in 1987. In 1985, he obtained his B.A. (With Distinction) also from the University of Saskatchewan.

· David is involved with all areas of Commercial Litigation including: Intellectual Property, Shareholder Rights, Mergers and Acquisitions, Fraud, Banking, Land related claims, Broker Liability and Oil & Gas.
Professional Experience
· David's emphasis is on general corporate/commercial litigation with extensive experience in:
- Litigation involving patents, trade-marks, copyright and trade secrets;
- Representing Canadian and International clientele with regard to fraud and fidelity related actions, software piracy, misappropriation of confidential information and technology, including execution of numerous Anton Piller Orders and Mareva Injunctions;
- Shareholder's rights litigation including oppression proceedings, winding up actions, hostile take-over bids and dissent valuation proceedings;
- Representing Canadian chartered banks, national and international Corporations and other lending institutions in security enforcement proceedings, including receivership and bankruptcy matters, large-scale agricultural related work-outs and foreclosure litigation;
