About this office:

DeFrancesco and Dienes is dedicated to providing its clients with exceptional, prompt and affordable legal services to businesses, municipalities and individuals over a broad spectrum of practice areas. We believe a small law firm model promotes greater flexibility and efficiency in the legal services we provide, without ever compromising the quality of our services. Our lawyers adhere to the philosophy that success is measured not by the billable hour, or by the rates we charge, but by the level of client satisfaction we receive on each and every project in which we are entrusted. Remembering that great law firms are built one successful client at a time, we never lose sight of the fact that your referral is the future of our success.

With over sixty years of combined legal experience, our partners have earned distinguished reputations for excellence in their respective areas of specialty, ranging from corporate and municipal law, real estate and estate planning, and commercial litigation. First established in 1998 by founding member, Frank J. DeFrancesco, the firm initially specialized in real estate, wills and estate planning, employment law and related litigation. Frank, a native of Berrien County, Michigan, graduated from Detroit Mercy law school in 1986, and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Central Michigan University in 1983. Frank is an active member of the Berrien County Bar Association, is actively involved in his community, and currently serves as a Catholic Community Education Commission Board Member.

In 2004, Scott A. Dienes returned to St. Joseph, Michigan, after practicing in the Grand Rapids office of Dickinson Wright, PLLC, to form DeFrancesco & Dienes. Scott expanded the firm's practice into municipal law, an area in which he currently specializes, representing numerous cities, townships and villages throughout southwest Michigan. Scott served as President of the Berrien County Bar Association in 2008 and is on the Board of Directors of the Thomas M. Cooley Law School and the Board of Trustees of Siena Heights University, from which he received his law degree in 1995 and Bachelor of Arts degree in 1990, respectively.

Our firm has a robust practice that spans virtually every aspect of municipal law, real estate, estate planning, corporate and litigation as to each. Our past successes and experience in these areas combine to allow us the ability to serve our clients efficiently and effectively each day.
