Dean A. Olson has more than 35 state and federal jury trials in complex toxic tort and business litigation including asbestos, employment and fraud litigation. His experience also includes the representation of public entities and law enforcement officers in civil right jury trials. He has an active statewide trial practice, and serves as regional and state trial counsel for a number of clients. Since 2007, Mr. Olson focused his trial practice upon asbestos litigation. In 2007/2008, Dean tried five complex jury trials through verdict throughout the state of California. In addition, he has favorably resolved multiple asbestos cases during the course of trial. In 2008, Dean successfully resolved an asbestos case on behalf of his client shortly before the jury rendered its verdict in excess of $14,000,000 against a remaining defendant. Dean has made extensive use of the latest techniques in case evaluation and trial preparation including jury focus groups and mock juries. Using alternative dispute resolution approaches, Dean has achieved a high success rate in the resolution of numerous complex and difficult cases. In the end, the most effective settlement strategy involves thorough trial preparation and the ability to successfully try the case. Mr. Olson has lectured for numerous organizations including seminars on Trial Advocacy for the National Business Institute and Fraud Litigation for the Defense Research Institute (DRI). Mr. Olson is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).
