| Biography | Denise Mendt is a member of the firm's Tax, Estate Planning, and Employee Benefits Department and practices in the areas of business planning and taxation, real estate taxation, and nonprofit organizations. Her practice is focused primarily on business transactions, advising clients on the tax aspects of acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, and corporate reorganizations. She also provides tax advice on general corporate and individual tax matters. Denise rejoined the firm in 2004 after spending 10 years as in-house tax counsel for a large life insurance company. She had originally joined the firm in 1991 after practicing several years with a Chicago law firm. Denise received her B.A. with honors from the University of Northern Iowa and her J.D. with high distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law.
