Biography

Professional Experience

Ms. Iorlano's litigation practice focuses on complex commercial litigation and intellectual property litigation. She has litigated matters for clients in entertainment, media, banking, real estate, insurance, healthcare and other industries. Ms. Iorlano has represented clients in contract, insurance and tort-related actions, including entertainment litigation, trademark and copyright, unfair competition, franchise agreement disputes, real estate and easement disputes, product liability and toxic torts. She is actively involved in all phases of litigation, from pre-litigation counseling through trial and appeal.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Iorlano served as national outside counsel to a latex glove manufacturer in multi-district litigation that included coordinated federal and state product liability actions. In addition, Ms. Iorlano has practiced extensively in federal bankruptcy court and has litigated bankruptcy adversary proceedings.

Also, Ms. Iorlano has served as a volunteer temporary judge for the Los Angeles Superior Court since 2004.

Representative Matters

· Served as part of team of Manatt lawyers serving as Special Counsel to a Select Committee of Inquiry of the Connecticut General Assembly considering whether to recommend the impeachment of former Governor John Rowland.

· Obtained dismissal of major online dating service from negligence action alleging liability for user interaction.

· Litigated music royalty action for prolific producer and composer of music from Motown and disco eras.

· Favorable resolution of royalty action on behalf of distributor of nature sound CDs after jury trial in federal court.

· Obtained dismissal on behalf of manufacturer and distributor of CDs, along with 11 retail stores who sold product, in action alleging violations of California's unfair competition statute.

· Settled breach of contract action for musician's life-story rights on behalf of deceased singer's estate.

· Successfully defended FOIA request by media for government records of online ticketing company's arena agreements.

· Obtained speedy resolution on behalf of distributor of compilation CDs of action for alleged invasion of privacy under Ohio statute for use of stock photography on CD packaging.

· Obtained summary judgment in favor of national retailer on issue of whether retailer storefronts constitute public forums for alleged free speech activities.

· Defended proceeding before California Labor Commissioner alleging violations by music producer of the Talent Agencies Act.

· Negotiated and litigated preference actions on behalf of Chapter 7 trustee in bankruptcy of community hospital.

· Prepared permanent guardianship and special juvenile immigrant status applications in pro bono matters for Guatemalan and Mexican juveniles abandoned by parents.
