Diane Sabol is a litigator whose practice focuses on mass tort and product liability litigation. In addition to this practice, Diane also has extensive experience representing national and multinational corporations in complex commercial litigation, including securities litigation, contractual disputes, as well as the defense of lenders and financial service clients in consumer fraud claims, Quiet Title actions, mortgage fraud cases, and consumer class actions.
Currently, Diane is a member of Mayer Brown's national defense teams for the Union Carbide Corporation and for its former subsidiary, Amchem Products, Inc., in connection with asbestos litigation. In this capacity, Diane coordinates efforts of regional and local counsel across the country in motion practice, discovery, and trial preparation. She also coordinates multi-disciplinary expert teams, prepares and defends expert witnesses, and handles dispositive and pre-trial motions. Diane also serves as a member of the team representing Medtronic, Inc. in In re Medtronic, Inc. Sprint Fidelis Lead, Product Liability Litigation (MDL 1905). As a member of this team, she has a primary role in developing the defense of both federal and state claims.
In addition to Diane's mass tort and product liability practice, she served as lead trial counsel in a contractual dispute, in which a judgment in excess of one-million dollars was awarded after a full bench trial. She went on to successfully argue the appeal in front of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Diane also served as second chair in a trial that resulted in a favorable judgment under an Open Records Act.
Diane has been named one of Benchmark Litigation's 2012 Future Stars.
Diane has practiced in Mayer Brown's Chicago office since joining the firm in 2002.
