We do one thing: civil litigation.
We don't draft wills or review contracts. We don't lobby Congress, give tax advice, or negotiate labor contracts. No divorces. But if your case involves a courtroom or an arbitration panel, we've probably handled something similar to your case.
Much of our reputation has been built on complex financial litigation, especially securities litigation, class actions, and stock fraud arbitrations. But we also handle a lot of general business disputes involving accounting issues, business valuations, shareholder fights, covenants not to compete, and trademark litigation. We also handle high-value personal injury litigation, such as commercial vehicle accidents, and False Claims Act, or "whistleblower," cases.
We most often represent plaintiffs, but we think our experience on the plaintiffs' side of cases also makes us better defense lawyers.
We've taken cases all the way to the United States Supreme Court, and we have litigated cases in state and federal courts across the nation.
We have offices in Birmingham, Alabama, and Chicago, Illinois.
We have an "AV" peer-review rating (the highest awarded) from Martindale-Hubbell, and we are listed in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers under the heading "Civil Trial Practice," because that's what we do: civil litigation.
