Donna-Marie Korth is a Partner in the Commercial/Real Estate Litigation Practice Group, and she also is a member of the firm's Management Committee. She concentrates in all aspects of commercial and real estate litigation, appellate practice, commercial foreclosure, lending litigation and guardianship proceedings, and previously concentrated in cooperative/condominium law.
Ms. Korth was appointed to and serves on the Nassau County Bar Association's judiciary committee, which screens candidates running for judicial office in Nassau County. She is also the former Dean of the Nassau Academy of Law, the educational arm of the Nassau County Bar association, and has moderated and lectured at several CLE seminars. She is also the former Chair and Vice-Chair of the Appellate Practice Committee and a co-ordinator of the annual Moot Court competition among area law schools.
Ms. Korth has been published in a variety of publications including the St. John's Journal of Legal Commentary and The New York Law Journal on the topics of the Second Amendment and Megan's Law.
Over the years, Ms. Korth has received numerous honors. She was recognized as one of the Long Island Business News' Who's Who in Women In Professional Services and was previously honored by the Long Island Business News' 40 Under 40 Class for 2000's "Class Salutatorian." Long Island Business News also named her one of Long Island's 40 rising stars under the age of 40; one of Long Island's Top 50 professional women in the year 2000; and one of the top professional women in 2004. In 2006, Touro Law Center named her Outstanding Pro Bono Attorney. She also received the Leadership Award from the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and was honored by Strathmore's Who's Who as a leader in the legal profession. She has also achieved the highest professional rating by Martindale Hubbell, and was elected as a fellow to the New York State Bar Foundation.
Ms. Korth graduated, magna cum laude, from of St. John's University with an undergraduate degree in accounting, and three years later she graduated, with honors, from that University's School of Law. She is admitted to practice in New York State and before the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the United States Supreme Court. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association and Nassau County Bar Association, and is a member of the commercial and federal litigation section of the New York State Bar Association.
Active in her community, she is a member of the St. Agnes Cathedral Mothers' Club, volunteers for community service at a Long Island soup kitchen, serves on the Black and White Ball Committee for Winthrop University Hospital's Cancer Center for Kids, and is a former member of the Telecare Community Action Board.
