Experience
Doreen S. Young is a member of the Firm's securities litigation team in the Tampa office. Doreen has experience in litigation, with an emphasis in commercial and securities litigation and arbitration proceedings. Her experience includes representation of securities industry clients, including broker-dealers, registered representatives and investment advisors in arbitration proceedings conducted by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Inc. ("FINRA"), as well as in court proceedings. Doreen has defended claims that include allegations related to suitability, selling away, unauthorized trading, supervision and breach of fiduciary duties. Doreen also has experience representing securities industry clients in connection with investigations and administrative proceedings initiated by the SEC, FINRA, NASD, NYSE and state regulatory agencies. Additionally, Doreen has trained securities industry supervisors and registered representatives in issues of compliance and risk management.
Background
Doreen was born in Brooklyn, NY and was raised in the Tampa Bay area. She received her B.A. in Political Science from Berry College in 1991. She received her Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law and was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1994.
Prior to joining GrayRobinson, Doreen was an Executive Director in the Legal and Compliance Division of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney where she represented the firm and its employees in arbitrations and court proceedings as well as regulatory investigations and administrative proceedings. Doreen also handled customer complaints and internal investigations while at Morgan Stanley.
Doreen started her career at a large national law firm handling a broad range of litigation, including title insurance disputes, trust, estate and guardianship litigation, eminent domain and creditors' rights.
