Doug Pfeiffer's active litigation practice focuses on the defense of international, national, and local Maryland corporations in products liability and mass/toxic tort matters. He has tried cases in various District and Circuit State Courts throughout Maryland, as well as the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. Mr. Pfeiffer has also been retained to assist clients in matters before several state courts of the Commonwealth of Virginia, as well as in the Court of Common Pleas for Philadelphia, PA and the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. He has extensive experience in handling all aspects of occupational mass torts claims including asbestos and silica related diseases. He has also defended companies against latex glove and pharmaceutical product claims. Mr. Pfeiffer has worked closely with companies in developing joint defense strategies, retaining expert witnesses, and managing clients' litigation dockets. He also defends an assortment of general litigation matters for various corporate and individual clients. Prior to joining Miles & Stockbridge, Mr. Pfeiffer was an assistant state's attorney for Baltimore County, Maryland. As a state prosecutor, he tried a broad spectrum of criminal matters. Currently Mr. Pfeiffer represents individual clients in a variety of State Court criminal matters throughout Maryland. Mr. Pfeiffer is also a Certified Mediator for the Circuit Courts of the State of Maryland and serves as a mediator for the Circuit and District Courts of Baltimore County.
