Doug practices in the firm's Litigation Management Group, concentrating on pharmaceutical and general liability matters. Doug has a wide range of litigation experience, representing clients in complex commercial disputes, intellectual property matters, professional malpractice actions and defending business entities and individuals in white-collar criminal matters.
Notable Experience
· Conducted internal investigations and defended a major pharmaceutical company in two large criminal investigations involving allegations of health care fraud.
· Obtained a favorable verdict for lawyer and law firm in legal malpractice action in a jury trial in Federal District Court.
· Obtained a favorable result for tenants living in New York City's Chinatown in a trial against a large New York landlord.
· Resolved, through mediation, claims against a major music publisher involving issues of copyright and production and distribution rights of home videos.
· Represented a large multi-national corporation in asserting professional negligence and fraud claims against a Big Four accounting firm.
Before Edwards Wildman
Doug served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Lee P. Gagliardi, U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of New York. After his clerkship, he was a litigation associate at Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler in New York.
