Doug has significant experience in the planning and structuring of sophisticated transactions for both public and privately-held companies involving corporations and flow-through entities (including LLPs, LLCs and S corporations). He has represented both individual and business taxpayers in matters before the Internal Revenue Service and state taxing authorities. Doug also advises clients with respect to estate and gift tax matters.
On a pro bono basis, Doug has participated in a volunteer income tax clinic every year since 2001, where he prepares income tax returns for low-income taxpayers. In addition, he has also represented several low-income taxpayers in matters before the Internal Revenue Service, as well as state taxing authorities.

Doug was an Associate in the Baltimore, Maryland office of Venable LLP, and prior to that, he was a Senior Tax Consultant in the Baltimore, Maryland office of Deloitte & Touche LLP.
