Edgar E. "Butch" Spielman is of counsel in the firm's Baton Rouge office. His area of focus is intellectual property law.
Butch has more than 35 years of experience as a practicing patent attorney. Prior to joining McGlinchey, he spent over 30 years working in-house for a global chemical company where he was head of the intellectual property section.
Butch's expansive range of experience with both international and domestic IP matters includes the prosecution of patent applications, the preparation and negotiation of IP licenses, the negotiation of license compliance and enforcement, and various IP litigation matters. Additionally, Butch has developed and implemented IP strategies for multiple business units.
Butch is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and is a member of the Louisiana State Bar.
