Ed Gray is a trial lawyer and appellate advocate representing companies in a wide variety of cases. His practice focuses on the preparation, trial and appeal of complex civil litigation cases, many of which involve complicated technological issues, including class actions, product liability cases, intellectual property cases and other types of technology related matters.
Ed is national and regional trial counsel for representative clients such as General Motors, Toyota, Textron, Navistar, Sony, Sears and Mitsubishi. He has tried cases in numerous state and federal courts and argued appeals in various circuit and stat appellate courts.
Representative Matters
Among the 50 plus complex litigation and/or catastrophic loss cases Ed has tried to verdict, are these four (4) representative matters:
· Trial and appellate representation of General Motors Corporation in a matter of first impression as to federal preemption of "no air bag" claims. Kolbeck v. General Motors Corporation; Cellucci v. General Motors Corporation. Defense verdict and decisions;
· Trial and appellate representation of Navistar International in the first post Daubert decision involving the admissibility of expert testimony. Bammerlin v. Navistar International. Defense decision;
· Trial and appellate representation of Toyota Motor Sales and Toyota Motor Corporation in a matter of first impression involving a claim that a FMVSS 208 "depowered air bag" was defective. McAlonan v. Toyota Motor Sales. Defense verdict;
· Representation of General Motors Corporation in a matter of first impression as to the use of data download from a DERM (black box). Willie Jerome Brown v. General Motors Corporation. Defense verdict.
