Ed received his B.A. degree in History from the University of Alabama in 1981 and his J.D. degree from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 1985. He began practice with a Birmingham law firm, and participated as the second chair in 10 jury trials in his first 18 months following bar admission, and tried numerous non-jury cases during that same period.
Two years later, in 1987, Ed moved to Mobile and tried his first solo jury trial six weeks later. He has been actively engaged as a trial lawyer ever since, trying numerous cases to jury verdict during each of his 21 years of practice. At last count, he had tried well over 120 cases, representing both plaintiffs and defendants. Ed practices before all state and federal courts in Alabama and considers himself a generalist who will try any type of case in any forum. Ed has been selected for inclusion in Alabama Super Lawyers from 2008 through 2012, and he is listed as one of The Best Lawyers in America in the areas of Commercial Litigation,Bet-the-Company Litigation, Construction Litigation, Personal Injury Litigation (Defendants) and Product Liability Litigation (Defendants).
