Biography

Edward Farrell concentrates his practice on international trade matters, particularly with respect to agricultural products. With over thirty five years experience, Mr. Farrell has represented clients before international tribunals, federal courts, congressional committees, and government agencies and departments, advising on a wide range of matters, including:

· Antidumping, countervailing duty, and escape clause proceedings

· WTO, NAFTA and other FTA dispute settlements

· Federal trial and appellate litigation, including U.S. Court of International Trade and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit proceedings

· Federal regulations, particularly those relating to customs and food and agricultural products

· Federal and state policies affecting trade, including advice on the impact of trade negotiations

· Customs matters, including development of compliance programs

· For his contribution to United States/New Zealand trade relations, Mr. Farrell was awarded the New Zealand Sesquicentennial Medal by then New Zealand Prime Minister Mike Moore. He is also on the U.S. NAFTA Chapter 19 Roster of Panelists to hear disputes under the trade remedy laws.

Mr. Farrell has received the highest possible rating from Martindale-Hubbell.

Representative Matters

· Advised Canadian cattle interests on pending WTO challenge to US county of origin labeling law.

· Advised New Zealand lamb producers in US safeguard action against lamb meat imports and subsequent WTO appeal finding in favor of New Zealand.

· Advised clients in successful action in the Ninth Circuit to overturn Montana District Court's injunction of USDA rule to allow resumption of trade in Canadian cattle.

· Advised clients in successful defense of antidumping and countervailing duty actions against cattle imports from Canada.
