Edward J. Gray now serves of counsel (retired) in the South Bend, Indiana office of Barnes & Thornburg LLP. He concentrated his practice in the estate planning, corporate, and tax law areas.
Mr. Gray is past president of the South Bend Estate Planning Council and served on the boards of many local civic organizations.
He graduated in 1952 from the University of Notre Dame with a B.A. in accounting. He served in the United States Navy and was discharged as a lieutenant junior grade in 1955, the same year in which he received his J.D. from Notre Dame Law School. He was a teacher and lecturer at both the University of Notre Dame College of Commerce and the law school.
In 1958 he joined the law firm which later merged to become Barnes & Thornburg and was elevated to partnership in 1961. He became of counsel in 1993.
