Mr. Sholinsky is an associate in the Firm's Litigation Services Department. His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation and general and business torts. His experience includes representation of insurance policyholders, financial institutions, and media organizations. Mr. Sholinsky has served as an extern for the Hon. Joseph H. Rodriguez, District Court of New Jersey. He worked as a newspaper reporter and in public relations before entering the legal practice.
Areas of Experience
Financial Services Litigation
Mr. Sholinsky's representative matters include:
· Represented at trial a national bank in a suit alleging fraud in a real estate transaction;
· Represented national financial institutions in a suit alleging illegal liquidation of stock securing a line of credit;
· Represented a national bank in check fraud cases implicating articles 3 and 4 of the UCC;
· Represented a national bank in cases involving trust management and nonprofit checking accounts; and
· Represented a major banking institution in a dispute over custody accounts.
Insurance Recovery
Mr. Sholinsky's representative matters include:
· Participation in the trial of a bad faith insurance coverage action in Louisiana on behalf of an apartment complex owner in the wake of Hurricane Katrina;
· Represented a major chemical manufacturer in insurance coverage litigation for toxic tort and asbestos claims involving numerous sites around the country; and
· Assisted client homebuilder in obtaining defenses from subcontractors' insurers.
Communications and Media
Mr. Sholinsky's representative matters include:
· Represented broadcast, online and print media in defamation actions; and
· Represented a group of amici in the United States Supreme Court challenging the regulation of indecent language on live television.
Litigation Services
Mr. Sholinsky's representative matters include:
· Represented an airplane manufacturer in a product liability suit alleging seat slips; and
· Represented a group of amici in the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit challenging an ordinance targeting undocumented immigrants.
