Edward O. Pacer is a partner in our Chicago office. Mr. Pacer has 18 years of experience as a litigation attorney. He has tried more than thirty cases to jury verdict and has substantial appellate practice experience. Additionally, Mr. Pacer has represented parties in numerous mediation and arbitration proceedings and has been chosen as an arbitrator on several occasions.
Mr. Pacer has successfully represented his construction clients in litigated matters involving contract, warranty and defect disputes. In a case of particular interest, Mr. Pacer successfully defended the HVAC contactor in a construction defect "Sick Building Syndrome" case, which was the first of its kind.
In addition to construction cases, Mr. Pacer has also represented clients in a wide variety of litigated matters, including business disputes, employment controversies and complex trust litigation. Throughout his career, Mr. Pacer has also counseled executives and officers of various publicly traded and privately held corporations in matters ranging from contract and severance negotiations to issues related to white collar criminal investigations.
Mr. Pacer has lectured nationally to a variety of organizations on topics ranging from construction to employment issues. Mr. Pacer is also a former Assistant State's Attorney in Cook County, Illinois and was a founding partner of the Harrison & Held law firm. In light of his accomplishments, Mr. Pacer has been recognized as a Chicago Super Lawyer.
Mr. Pacer is admitted to practice law before the United States District Court in the Northern District of Illinois (Trial Bar) and in the Central District of Illinois as well as the courts of the State of Illinois.
Mr. Pacer received his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois-Champaign/Urbana and his law degree from Loyola University of Chicago.
