Ed Kallal is a member of Sutherland's Corporate Practice Group and focuses primarily on corporate law. He has represented both buyers and sellers in a variety of business combination transactions, including asset acquisitions, stock acquisitions and mergers, and has represented both borrowers and lenders in secured and unsecured loan transactions.
Ed has represented a number of U.S.-based clients in the negotiation of joint venture arrangements with foreign companies, including companies from Canada, France, Ireland, Mexico, Russia, Singapore, and Sweden. These have included arrangements to jointly manufacture in the United States and abroad, strategic partnering and the operation of non-manufacturing establishments abroad. In addition, Ed is active in the private equity practice. He has experience in Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act matters and he serves as general outside counsel for several clients in various industries.
Ed serves as the partner leading Sutherland's China Initiative, a firmwide project focused on serving key clients conducting business throughout Asia and dedicated to helping U.S. companies successfully do business globally.
