Edwin D. Mason is a partner and chair of Foley's Chicago office Business Law Department. A member of the Transactional & Securities Practice, he has over 30 years of experience representing clients in complex business transactions.

Mr. Mason's practice is focused primarily in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance matters, and general corporate and business law-counseling. While representing clients across a broad range of industries throughout his career, Mr. Mason has focused his transactional practice in the financial services, technology, food and manufacturing industries. Within the financial services industry, he has extensive experience in acquisitions and sales of broker-dealers, insurance companies, and investment management firms.

Mr. Mason's clients include several Fortune 500 companies, as well as privately owned businesses and entrepreneurs. He also represents non-U.S. based clients in connection with their U.S. transactions.

Mr. Mason is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, the State Bar of Illinois, and the American Bar Association.

Mr. Mason received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School in 1980 and earned his B.S., summa cum laude, at the University of Illinois in 1977. He has practiced in Chicago since 1980 and is involved in a number of charitable organizations. He currently serves on the board of directors of Cabrini Green Legal Aid.
